Having cancer over and over again wasn't just bad luck: Sabrina was born with Li-Fraumeni syndrome, also known as the ticking time bomb disease, a genetic predisposition to developing almost all cancers.  Despite this, Sabrina was determined to live her life to the fullest.  But at age thirty-one, newly engaged and graduated from law school, she was diagnosed with cancer number five: an aggressive osteosarcoma that would be deemed incurable just months later.  Determined to leave her mark, Sabrina began writing a book about her incredible life with Katelyn's help.  The writer promised her that no matter what happened, she would share Sabrina's story with the world.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter Sabrina's death in 2017, Katelyn worked with Sabrina's friends, family, and leading cancer researchers around the world to fulfil that promise.  Their book, \u003cem\u003eThe Ticking Time Bomb: Sabrina's Story\u003c\/em\u003e has just been published.  \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch5\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eABOUT THE AUTHOR\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/h5\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKatelyn Verstraten is an award-winning writer and former journalist. Her inspiration to write books about both cerebral palsy and cancer came from her days working in the mainstream media, where she interviewed many patients and families whose stories inspired her. When not writing, Katelyn can be found skiing, running, rock climbing, lake swimming or spending time with her young family.
